This electrical operated light weight mechanical connector is primarily designed for docking and connection between a drone (AUV) and auxiliary equipment or to dock and latch the AUV into parking positions etc.
The Connector is based on the DNV type approved Multi Dog system.
Multi Dog connectors has been on the marked since 2000 and is
regarded as field proven. The Multi Dog system is compact, and self-
aligning, hence easy and effective to dock subsea by any ROV/AUV
system. It has extremely high load to weight ratio and integrated
inherent safety system to prevent undesired disconnection.
The MultiDog products and systems are produced in a variety
of materials to suit different applications and requirements.
This specific connector is electrically operated and based on shape alloy
metal actuation, hence extremely reliable and rugged. Normal fail safe
position is "Locked" and by applying a small amount of electrical energy,
the connector quickly disconnects from the female receptacle.
By utilizing high end materials, the connector will be perfectly suited
for drones and small AUV applications.
